Refund and returns policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Applies to every purchase made on MMEST Market.

When you can return an item

You may request a return within 14 days of the date your payment was confirmed if the item:

• arrived damaged or faulty,
• does not match the product description or photos on the listing, or
• was never delivered by the seller.

Items that were used, altered, or damaged after delivery, and perishable goods that have been opened, are not eligible unless they were faulty on arrival.

How to request a return

1. Sign in and open Your orders.
2. Choose the order and the item, enter the quantity, and tell us what went wrong.
3. The seller reviews your request and responds through the platform. You can follow the status under Returns.

Sending the item back

Once the seller approves the return, send the item back to the address the seller provides. You pay for return shipping unless the item was faulty or not as described, in which case the seller bears it. Keep your tracking or delivery receipt.

When and how you are refunded

The refund is issued when the seller confirms the returned item has reached them. It goes back to the card or account you paid with, through Paystack, and normally shows within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. Refunds cover the price of the item. The original delivery fee is not refunded unless the item never shipped.

If the seller does not respond

If a seller has not responded to your return request within 5 business days, or you disagree with their decision, contact our support team with your order number. We review the case, ask the seller for proof of delivery where relevant, and can approve a refund on your behalf.

Chargebacks

If you raise a dispute directly with your bank, the payment is investigated through Paystack. We will ask the seller for evidence of fulfilment and, where they cannot provide it, we accept the reversal. We ask that you contact us first, as our returns process is usually faster.

Cancelling an order

Orders that have not yet been paid can be cancelled from your account at no cost. Once paid, use the return process above.
